“Loan Granted without Bank PHB’s Consent” VOL: 1 ISSN: 10: A man from Serrekunda has been granted bail in the sum of D900, 000 by Magistrate Abdoulie Mbacke of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court on Monday 14th December, 2009.
Bakary Camara was facing charges of three counts of stealing by servant contrary to Section 258 of the Criminal Code Cap10, Volume III Laws of The Gambia 1990.
According the particulars of offence, Bakary Camara between January and February 2009, being an employee or servant of Bank PHB at the Serrekunda Branch, fraudulently converted the sum of D120, 104.55, D164, 084.81 and D580, 979.57 from the bank without the bank’s consent, which money came into his hand by virtue of being an employee of the bank. He was said to have given the money as loan to one Ebrima Ndow, Christian Chimi and Emeka Orybam thereby committed an offence.
When the charge sheet was read to him, he pleaded not guilty on all three counts preferred against him.
The accused was subsequently granted bail in the sum of D900, 000 with two Gambian sureties and one of whom most have a landed property amounting to the bail bond and should be located within the Greater Banjul Area.
The case has been adjourned till December 29, 2009.
