Morocco move to within two points of group c leaders Ivory Coast

A 2-0 win over The Gambia at the Stade de Marrakech  on Saturday night has seen Morocco move to within two points of group C leaders Ivory Coast in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.

Abdelaziz Barrada put the Atlas Lions ahead within 4 minutes of the game. 

Younes Belhanda makes it 2-0 with a beautiful goal from within 19 yards in the 51st minute.

A minute later, Scorpion defender Pa Modou Jagne missed a penalty for The Gambia.   

The win takes Morocco to within two points of group c leaders with 8 points. Ivory Coast remain at the top of the group with 10 points, Tanzania at third with 6 points, while The Gambia languishes at the bottom with only 1 point to its name.

Tanzania host Ivory Coast in Dar es Salaam on Sunday. 

Last week, Ivory Coast defeated The Gambia 3-0 in Bakau, and Morocco secured a 2-1win over the Taifa Stars of Tanzania in Marrakech. 

The winners of the group qualify to the  final stage of the World Cup qualifiers. The FIFA 2014 World Cup will be hosted by Brazil next summer.
