Candidates choose executives ahead of GFF election

The two candidates vying The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) presidency have selected would-be executive members ahead of the Wednesday’s (July 31) election taking place at the Independence Stadium Friendship Hostel in Bakau. 
Modou Moussa, the Managing Director of First International Bank, and Mustapha Kebbeh, the President of Steve Biko Football Club will go head to head in Wednesday’s elections as the only two contestants for the GFF presidency.

Both have chosen running mates in time for the first elections since the ousting of former President Seedy M.B. Kinteh and his entire executive on March 2, 2012.

Kebbeh’s running mates confirmed

Mustapha Kebbeh has named Buba Janneh of Bombarda Football Club as his first vice president, Kebba Touray of Gamtel FC as 2nd vice president and Basirou Bajo of Brikama United FC as 3rd vice president.

Two other executive positions will be filled by Borri Darboe of Bakau United FC and Lamin Camara of Lamin United FC and the Gambia Football Referees Association, Kebbeh’s group has confirmed.

Modou Moussa's running mates 

Presidential hopeful Modou Moussa has identified Willy Abrama of Real de Banjul FC as 1st vice president, Martin Gomez and Abu Khan as 2nd and 3rd vice presidents respectively.  

His co-opted members will be Lamin Camara, Joseph Sambo, Nyima Manneh and Nafisatou Secka.

Meanwhile, the two are undecided over the candidature of Lamin Camara (a retired referee) who is has been selected to run by both camps, but reports said Camara has since decided he is a part of the Modou Moussa camp though the Kebbeh camp has opted not to draw his name.
