Senior Members of Gambia Amateur Boxing Association charged


Four Executive Members of The Gambia Amateur Boxing Association has been arraigned and charged with two criminal counts at the Kanifing Municipality Magistrate Court on April 11. 2011.
The quartet, Tamsir Biram Sarr, Sakko Drammeh, Momodou Jallow and Ali Jagana are answering to charges of “Conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor” and “Obtaining money by false pretence”. They have denied the charges and are represented by counsel Bachilly.
The particulars of offence on count one stated that Tamsir Biram Sarr, Sakko Drammeh, Momodou Jallow and Ali Jagana on or about the year 2009, at Churchill’s Town and diverse places in the Kanifing Municipality of the Republic of The Gambia, conspired to commit a misdemeanor to wit: defrauding Duga Jabbi, Badu Secka, Binta Singhateh and Malick Singhateh.
The particulars on count two indicated that Tamsir Biram Sarr, Sakko Drammeh, Momodou Jallow and Ali Jagana on or about the year 2009, at Churchill’s Town and diverse places in the Kanifing Municipality of the Republic of The Gambia, they intent to defraud; jointly obtain money from Duga Jabbi, Badu Secka, Binta Singhateh and Malick Singhateh, the sum of five hundred thousand Dalasis with the pretext that they will secure them each collectively European visas for purported competition with The Gambia Amateur Boxing Association which representation was fake. The case has been adjourned till 21st April, 2011. Source – The Voice
