More Revelation as to the D8 Million Debt at the GFA

Omar Sey, GFA Interim Spokesperson
The Gambia Football Association, GFA, Normalisation Committee recently declared that it has inherited D8 million in arrears from the former executive.

Speaking at a press briefing at Football House, the first since the committee was installed last March, Omar Sey, spokesman of the committee said they have been able to raise a loan to settle the salary arrears and dues of retained and retrenched staff and are in touch with our legal team to make an advance towards settling the court action that impounded our bus.

But Sports View Newspaper managed to get the official summary of GFA creditors which was prepared by the Normalization committee led by OB Conateh which represents a bogus figure aims at discrediting the tremendous development programme undertaken by Seedy Kinteh led executive committee.

According to the summary, the GFA staff salary of March, April, May and June 2012 amounting to – D1,497,764.80 was listed as debt accumulated by the former executive with everybody knows that the former executive were ousted on the 02nd March 2012 and being the case could not be responsible of March, April, May and June salary.

Any debt accumulated after March 02nd 2012 should be listed ender the GFA Normalization committee.
Another amount of D642,400 owed to Paradise Suites Hotel through providing camping of national team is under the responsibility of the Ministry of Youth and Sports who since 2008 have made it public that all expenses on National teams are under the Ministry of Youth and Sports but failed to honor its own words.

Skye Bank - D382.632.31 is an outstanding balance plus interest, spent on accommodation for U-20 team of Ivory Coast, arranged by Ministry of Sports but credited to GFA accounts.

According to the arrangement with SKYE BANK, during the CAF 2011 U-20 championships qualifiers, when Ivory Coast U-20 came to the Gambia, the Ministry of Youth and Sports approached Skye Bank for assistance and the management of the Bank told the Ministry that they can only help if The GFA opens an account with them which was done under a directive from the ministry.

Later on an amount was paid into that account and used by GFA on that purpose. Despite the account is owned by GFA, the loan should be settled by the Ministry.

Here are the rundown of the summary of GFA creditors published by the Normalization Committee

  3. Today, I went to the beach front with my kids.
I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed the shell
to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!
