No one is safe from the crises in the world

Amir Trawally (L)  at the (35th) 2011 Jalsa Salana
The Amir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at in the Gambia has projected a global catastrophe as the world continues to be plagued by numerous crises.

His projection came at a time when the world is grappling with political, economic, and food crises – the later already extant at home, the Gambia.

“The world is going through turbulent times in all fronts. No one is safe from these crises, especially the Muslim world,” said Amir Sahib Baba F. Trawally, who added: “If these crises are not properly checked, a global catastrophe is inevitable.”

Speaking during the 36th Annual Convention (Jalsa Salana) of the Ahmadiyya on April 6, 2012, the Muslim sect’s leader, Amir Trawally, said the world experienced a similar disorder when Prophet Muhammad (SAW) appeared in the 6th century.

Through the perfect teachings of Islam, he was able to establish peace, love and unity to a magnitude never known in history, he said of Muhammad, whom the “Holy Qur’an described as the possessor of excellent moral qualities.”

“The justice that the world cries so much for cannot be attained without this moral quality. The dealings of governments should be based on truth and justice,” Amir Trawally stressed.

This should not be overlooked by vested interests of governments, he added.

He charged every Muslim to ensure these noble principles are established in the world, but warns that it should not be in the form of violence. “It is done through the highest moral qualities, tolerance, understanding and forbearance in our actions,” he said.

He condemns the killings of innocent people, especially women and children, which he said tainted the image of Islam.

The Jalsa is the biggest annual gathering of the Ahmadiyya. This year, it attracted participants from Gambia, Guinea Bissau and Senegal, gathered at Masroor Senior Secondary School, where the event was held..

Initiated in 1891 in Qadian, India, the primary purpose of the convention is to enable every sincere individual to personally experience religious benefits – enhance their knowledge.
