Rights Activist Denounces France-Italy’s Duplicity

BANJUL, Gambia (AP) – Africa’s civil society emblematic figure Sidiki Kaba, Honorary President of the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and President of the Dakar-based African Centre for Conflicts Prevention and Peace (CAPREC), has denounced the “duplicity of French and Italian authorities” in their strive to contain “the human tsunami” that has stormed the European continent.
The renowned Senegalese lawyer, who is currently attending the NGOs Forum that is taking place in Banjul (25-25 February, 2011), told the Associated Press news agency the “plight of the 25, 000 African migrants is intimately related to electoralist reasons.”
