“We will come back Next Year” - YAP Coordinator

Banjul, The Gambia (TNBES) After having seen his side humbled to a
2-1 defeat and their hopes of clinching the title of the maiden edition of
Fatou Mbye Memorial Tournament dashed by the Sport Journalists, the Coordinator
of the Youth Ambassadors of Peace says that his side will bounce back next
year.
“We are coming back next year and hopefully we will take the title next year,” Yusupha Njie told journalists shortly after the game. He said: “We played more than the journalists for the best part of the game but we
were unlucky to win the game,” he argued.

The goalkeeper of the Sport Journalist, Alasan Mballow who played down talks of being the Man of the Match argued that the achievement was based on team work and dedication.

“Well I cannot just say that I am Man of The Match, we all played very well, I have always told my team mates that we will go for the trophy,” he said.

After the presentations, the Gambia Coaches Association announced that it is donating D2000 to the family of the late Fatou Mbye as part of contributions towards the proceeds of the tournament.

“She left us but has brought us together,” Pa Suwareh Faye of the Coaches Association said while commending the Sport journalists for undertaking such a crucial step to organise such a tournament.

For Sang Mendy, the Vice President of the Sports Journalists Association and a Member of the organising committee commended everyone who in one way or the other contributed to the success of the tournament. VOL:2
