Banjul, The Gambia (TNBES) Lawmakers and subject matter specialist of the Public Accounts and Public Enterprise Committees has jointly rejected and refuse to adopts the annual report and financial statement of the Asset Management and Recovering Cooperation (AMRC) for the year ended 31st
December 2008.

Officials of AMRC were before the National Assembly Public Accounts and Public Enterprise Committee to submit it 2008 annual report and an audited financial statement account to be scrutinized on their level of
performance.

The speaker of the National Assembly Hon. Elizabeth Renner noted that AMRC is one of the public service institutions that failed to meet the targeted date set for them to report to the committee.

She added that AMRC were given another chance to put their house in order and report to the committee, but they failed to do so.

Hon Renner stress that AMRC has failed to comply with the Committee’s requirement, failing to give the committee the relevant information needed to assess their institution.

Mrs. Renner argued that the report has no substantial information and that there are no activities reported that the committee can look into in order to known their performance, constraint and weaknesses or
make some recommendation.

“The activities report, which we are more concerned on have not been reflected on the report,” she said. According to her, the report is neither benefiting nor enough for the committee to adopt or get information
from a report as brief as that of the AMRC.

Renner asked AMRC to update its report for proper scrutiny. “The committee will give you your last chance to come up with a proper report for scrutiny,” she said. VOL:2 ISSN:79
